but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy products to prepare fruit juices for resale.

01_Grand Thialy Group's story

This group consists of twelve women who belong to the "banc villageois" that was started in their village in December 2010. They are from the same neighbourhood and share strong bonds of solidarity and understanding. Their main business is retail. They have received and have paid back close to 10 loans.

Mrs. Ephigénie, who is the leader of the group, is 40 years old. She is the second on the left hand side of the picture, with her hand raised and wearing a white and green dress. She is married and is the mother of two children who are both in school.

Mrs. Ephigénie sells fruit juices. She buys her supplies at the main market and retails the juices from her home. She has been involved in this business for over 3 years.

With her new loan, she wants to buy 5 kgs of monkey bread, 3 kgs of hibiscus, 3 kgs of sugar, flavourings and bags. She prepares and sells her juices every two days. She makes delicious juices and she is doing well. She will use the profits from her sales to increase her savings within the "banc villageois" and to meet her modest needs.
