Drita's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped an elderly woman to pay supplies for the autumn planting season so she and her husband will be able to continue providing for themselves from the agricultural activity.

Drita's story

Drita is an elderly woman from Pogradec city. She is a very hardworking and kindhearted lady who lives with her husband in a small village house. Their children are all married and live abroad with their respective families.

Drita and her husband receive small retirement pensions, totalling $250/month for both of them

To provide themselves with something more, they do a little farming for their own consumption and also sell their produce. They have a vineyard and they plant different vegetables like beans, red onions, potatoes, as well as wheat and corn.

They want to prepare their land for the next planting season, but since their potatoes, onions and beans are not yet ready to sell, they do not have the money needed.

Drita has had the support of the Kiva lenders previously to pay for some medical clinic expenses, after which she recovered her health and became able to return to her daily activity.

Drita is hoping, one more time, for Kiva lenders' support. Part of the loan is going to be used to finish paying back the previous Kiva loan and the balance will go towards farm supplies.
