Maria Del Carmen's story

María is a humble rural woman from Tuquerres, Colombia, which is also where she was born. At the age of 15, she moved to the city of Tulcán in search of a better place to live due to violence and job shortages in her country.

María arrived with her family and began engaging in all types of farm work. She worked as a day laborer and gradually became involved in other income-generating activities. María currently raises small animals such as pigs, chickens, guinea pigs, and rabbits since her work as a day laborer has diminished.

María wants to continue developing her business, so she is requesting a loan to buy pigs, balanced feed, vitamins, scrap potatoes, and whey. This will enable her to generate more household income now that she is not working as a day laborer.
