Diana's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy farm inputs, such as hybrid seeds and certified fertilizer, to improve yields and increase profits.

Diana's story

Just like any mother, Diana, a 45-year-old single mother, has always cared for her family. She is a wise farmer who is respected by her neighbors and fellow farmers as a mentor. She farms a small plot of land in Litein, which is in the Rift valley region of Kenya. For the past few years, she has been involved in mixed farming, and she grows different crops. She also has dairy cows.

Access to modern-quality farm inputs is the pillar of the agricultural revolution. However, in Kenya, a developing country, fertilizer and seed allocation by the government is far below farmers' needs. Since Kiva partner Juhudi Kilimo ventured into the affairs of smallholder farmers in Kenya, farmers can attest that there has been a significant improvement in the availability of inputs.

Diana is requesting this loan, so that she can buy hybrid seeds and rich nutrient fertilizers to use on her farm. She believes that these inputs will help her improve her farm yield, thus increasing her income level. She is confident that she will be able to repay her loan and expand her farm. This loan will surely empower this hardworking woman. Support her, show love to a mother and help her prosper in her life.
