Masida's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to diversify her groceries business to include selling of clothing on a larger scale.

Masida's story

Masida is a 24-year-old entrepreneur who lives with her husband and two children in the Nkhatabay district in Malawi. She runs her own groceries shop. With her first Kiva loan, Masida increased stock levels and also added selling of clothes in her shop. She used the profit she earned to support her family and parents.

Masida is now requesting a second loan in order to diversify her groceries business to include the selling of clothing on a larger scale. She plans to use the profit she earns to support her family's basic needs. Masida will repay the ‘social interest’ on her second loan by volunteering 2.5 hours per week as a CAMFED Transition Guide, supporting other young women who are just entering CAMFED’s alumnae organization, CAMA, by delivering an orientation course with weekly sessions on topics including health, financial literacy, and career guidance.
