La Ceiba De Tzampoj Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy more clothes in new designs and of high quality.

La Ceiba De Tzampoj Group's story

28-year-old Ofelia is a single woman and lives with her parents. She is a talented young woman who makes her living buying and reselling textiles (blouses and typical skirts). She knows that typical Guatemalan clothing is a combination of colors and designs that is admired by lovers of textiles. She sells her product from her home with the neighbors in the area.

She shares: "My greatest wish is for my business to grow to have a higher income and a better standard of living for my family.".

Ofelia and 6 other Maya K'iche 'women from this communal bank live in the Department / State of Sololá. They want to invest in textile businesses, 3 product stores, and daily consumer stores. They are applying for the group's 2nd loan from Kiva to buy more clothes in new designs and of high quality

During the loan cycle, Ofelia and the other women will benefit from receiving educational training each month. A facilitator from the institution also advises women on how to obtain higher profits, such as offering the product that has little movement, selling products that customers need.

In Ofelia's words "I am sure that with this information we will move forward, stronger, and more empowered". This is part of the "Microcredit Plus" loan, education, and health program.

Entrepreneurial women like Ofelia envision bright futures with the support of Kiva and Puente de Amistad lenders. Thank you!
