Rebeccah's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy farm inputs such as fertilizer to grow more crop plants.

Rebeccah's story

Rebeccah (a 40 year-old mom of seven school going children) is a hardworking mom from a remote village in the Makutano area of Kenya. Thanks to her daily efforts, she has managed to give her children a good start by providing them with a high-quality education.

She has a farm where she grows different crops and raises livestock. She also earns some income from a personal business. She never had a formal education and is content with the farming lifestyle. The Makutano area is a favorable one for farming.

She is seeking a 30,000 KES loan through Kiva's field partner, Juhudi Kilimo, to buy farm inputs such as fertilizers to enable her to grow more crops, reap maximum profits, and increase her farming business.

Being a woman and accessing funds in Kenya, especially around her remote village, is very challenging but Rebeccah feels relieved knowing there are institutions such as Kiva that help enterprising women like herself.

She is always working to improve her family’s living conditions but her biggest dreams are to become independent and support her family.
