01_Mbourokh Group's story

These twenty women are members of a group that was started in April 2010. They live in the same village and share strong social bonds. They have paid back several loans upon maturity. Their main businesses are farming and retail.

Mrs. Nogoye, who is the leader of the group, is 60 years old. She is the one with the hand raised on the picture. She is married and does not have any children. She sells food products that she buys at the central market and retails from home. She has 15 years of experience in that business. She will buy onions, chili, pepper, candies, peanuts etc. that she will manage to sell despite the competition. She will use the profits from her sales to consolidate her business and to increase her savings.
