Diamouguel Touba Fall Group's story

Dienabou is 46 years old and is the president of the "Diamouguel Touba Fall" Group which is Wolof for "Peace". She has been making a living raising animals for 18 years. She is married to a farmer and they have two children who go to school, aged 10 and 13 years old. She lives in Tambacounda, an area of Senegal where she carries out her business like the other ten members of the group.

Dienabou never attended school but she is a hard-working woman who dreams of having many animals in order to increase her revenue.

She gets her stock in the weekly markets. After having cared for the sheep and goats well she resells them at the same markets at a price that is beneficial for her. Doing this she is able to satisfy the family's needs, particularly the schooling, health care and food for her children and grow her business in her community.

She dreams of becoming one of the large suppliers of sheep in her community. She is sometimes faced with theft of her animals and sicknesses that become obstacles in reaching her objectives.
