Greatful Group's story
Helena C. is the leader of the group of five borrowers called Greatful. She is 35 years old, married, and has 3 children who range from 4 to 10 year old. She did not continue her education through high school because of poverty. For 6 years, Helena has been selling foodstuffs such as pepper, salt and oil at the Gbengba Town market in Paynesville, Liberia. She gives her goods a good presentation which keeps customers turning. Helena started by selling dried meat and she has not experienced any problems doing business. She plans to use her 6,000 Liberian dollar portion of this 30,000 Liberian dollar group loan to buy more oil, salt and pepper for sale. Her goal is to build a shop and send her children to school. In the photo that accompanies this profile, Helena is holding the sign. And Gueah is inset at the lower right because she was absent during interview.
