A loan helped to buy enough pandanus for her weaving because the price of the pandanus in the local market has increased.

Pinomi's story

Pinomi's husband is a farmer, and they have six children. They live in their own home on the island of Vava'u. Only their two youngest remain with them, while the four eldest have their own families and run their own lives.

For many years, Pinomi provided for her family through the work of her hand. She is a weaver, and she usually weaves mats and taovala and sells them to earn money for her family. Her husband supports her by growing a plantation that helps with the daily food for the family.

Pinomi is a hard-working mother. Even up to now, she still runs her business very well, provides for her two youngest and also supports her older children in raising their own families. She still wants to keep her business running, to make her own money and to be her own boss.

Pinomi is applying for a loan to buy enough pandanus for her weaving because the price of the pandanus in the local market has increased.
