Willie's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped a minority-owned business avoid layoffs due to the challenges presented by COVID-19 pandemic.

Willie's story

As a Black male, I have not always had the necessary resources to thrive as a business owner. Further, I never even dreamed of owning my own business because I felt it was too far fetched. For me, I was always taught to get a proper education and pursue a career that I was passionate about as well as 'pay the bills.' While I did pursue a formal education, I desired more and I needed an additional source of income to support myself. Based on this reality, Third Generation, LLC materialized. The motivation and passion I have for my business are, actually, a few things. First, I desire my financial independence and freedom and my business is an avenue to do so. Secondly, I serve as a mentor for many young rural area kids; specifically minority males and I teach these kids (by example) to work hard and strive for self-sufficiency. Lastly, my desire to leave a legacy for those family members coming behind me further heightens the passion I have for my business.
