Deborah's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy banana stems and fertilizer to boost crop production.

Deborah's story

Deborah is a farmer and a business woman from Kyakayonyi , Kibaale district. She is a single mother with one child and 2 dependents. These dependents are the children of her sister, who is also divorced and has no capacity to look after them.

She grows maize and banana on a medium scale. This has helped her to accumulate savings, which she used to start up two drug shops in her area as another source of income.

She started the agriculture business three years back when she was still at the school, with the aim of earning school fees. She has continued, since it is profit-making business.

She is seeking a loan of 1,500,000 UGX for investing in the agriculture business to improve it and to realize increased yields.

She will use the money to buy banana stems for replanting and fertilizer to improve soil nutrition, which will boost production and sales.

Her plan for the future is to have a clinic and to go back to school for further education.
