Amos Group's story

Amos M. is the leader of a group of five borrowers called Amos Group. He is 42 years old and single. Amos could not continue his education through 12th grade due to poverty, and he had to go into business to survive.
For the last four years, Amos has been selling provisions such as milk, sugar, margarine and Ovaltine at Clay Street, downtown Monrovia, Liberia. He started out selling water and foodstuffs, but faced problems with some goods that did not move fast on the Liberian market. He now sells goods that customers demand in order to keep them returning.
Amos plans to use his 8,000 LRD portion of this 40,000 LRD group loan to purchase more milk, sugar and margarine. His goal and dream is to improve his business so that he has a bigger store.
