This group of seven women has been part of the 'banc villageois' since October 2001. The women’s main revenue-generating work is in small-scale commerce. Living in two neighboring villages, they are energetic and assist one another, so that their businesses do well. The revenues allow for improvements in their family lives.

Ms. Cira, with her hand raised in the photo, is 49 years old and the group's representative. The married mother of five, she has two others in her care. She operates her business with a lot of experience.

Her new loan will be used to purchase “nététou” [condiment made from fermented néré beans] and some sugar to resell. With the earnings, she plans to pay for her the children’s schooling and to see to their food.
