Sandra Eliana's story

Sandra is a 20-year-old Colombian residing in the Santa Rosa area of Ecuador. She lives with her husband and sister-in-law in a space that they rent. Sandra and her husband are hourly employees. It is not stable work, which is why Sandra supports herself by raising chickens. She started this business venture thanks to a project in Colombia where they helped her with 50 chickens and a quintal of corn. It was a good experience, so Sandra continued with the business until she came to live in Ecuador, when she had to sell all the chickens to pay a few moving expenses. She is requesting a loan to start up her business raising chickens again here in Ecuador. In order to do this, she needs to buy: plastic, wood, chickens, and corn. This way, she hopes to be able to count on a source of income in addition to her hourly wages that allows her to have food every day.
