Maria Bertha's story

María, age 59, continues to be a strong, responsible, and hard-working woman. She lives with her husband, her son, and her 11 year old granddaughter.

María and her husband have been working in agriculture for 20 years. She starting growing a little bit with a partner. Now, with the support of the loans, she does it on her own. This has allowed her to improve her family's quality of life.

María says that agriculture is harder now. The pandemic has affected the commerce of different products. Nevertheless, she will keep working in agriculture because it is her main source of income to be able to live on.

María is requesting a loan to pay for fertilizer and to pay the workers to care for the potato and pea crops. This way she will be able to harvest a healthy product that gets a good price at the market. This way she will be able to pay for the necessities for her humble household.
