A loan helped to buy maize and groundnut seeds, as well as fertilizer.

05_Ansoumany Group's story

This group was set up in June 2019 and is made up of ten men who live in the same village and are united by family links and friendship. They have a good social relationship and are all farmers. The group is on its second loan.

Ansou, who is 55 years old, is the group's representative. He is married and father to four children, one of whom is a girl. He grows maize and groundnut, like most of the people in his village.

With this loan he is planning to buy groundnut and maize seeds, as well as fertilizer to farm his field. This year he is planning to grow two hectares of maize and one hectare of groundnut. After the harvest, he will sell his produce at the market in his town at a reasonable price, hoping to make more money. The profits from this loan will be used to pay for family expenses as well as his children's schooling and healthcare.
