A loan helped to purchase farming inputs such as fertilizers and hybrid seeds, to boost the quality of her corn crop produce and earn more profits to improve her living standard.

Emily's story

Hello, wonderful community of Kiva! Get to know Emily, who is 36 years old and a mom of four school-attending children. She is married to an energetic and hardworking husband.

Emily is one of the few respected women farmers in her village due to her unquestionable understanding of all agricultural enterprises.

Emily is a dairy and crop farmer. Juhudi Kilimo partnered with Kiva to provide financial services to smallholders around Kenya. Through these financial services, farmers from Makutano, like Emily, can now buy productive assets and important agricultural inputs for use on their farms.

Emily has requested this loan to purchase farming inputs such as fertilizers and hybrid seeds, to boost the quality of her corn crop produce and earn more profits to improve her living standard. Through this loan, Emily will fill the increasing demand for food in the market, and in the process generate more income. She will therefore be able to repay the loan and improve the quality of life for her family.

Emily hopes her Kiva lenders will respond positively to her request. Help this hardworking woman to accomplish all her dreams with just a loan!
