Elsa's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase flour, cream, sugar, milk, butter, eggs, salt, margarine, and other ingredients in order to make more traditional bread.

Elsa's story

Elsa is 30 years old and married. She has two children and lives with her family in the Ainaro municipality of East-Timor. For three years, she has been earning a living by making and selling traditional Portuguese bread. She has the business set up in her house.

She wants to stock her business and has decided to request a loan from Kiva's field partner KIF, in the amount of $700, to purchase flour, cream, sugar, milk, butter, eggs, salt, margarine, and other ingredients in order to make more traditional bread and previously she had borrowed and repaid all of her loan on time.

With the loan, she hopes to have a larger inventory to make bread and offer a variety of products to her customers. Her goals are to grow her business, satisfy her customers, and give her family a better quality of life.
