Christina's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to grow and concentrate on the food supply as the turnover is currently very high.

Christina's story

Christina is a 23-year-old entrepreneur who lives with her husband in the Machinga district in Malawi. She sells groceries, maize flour, rice and beans. Christina is now requesting a Kiva loan in order to grow and concentrate on the food supply as the turnover is currently very high. She hopes to expand her profit base if she invests in more food items than others. She plans to use the profit she earns to support herself and her family, and also increase her ability to reach out to others.

Christina will repay the ‘social interest’ on her loan by volunteering 2.5 hours weekly as a Learner Guide, leading sessions on sexual and reproductive health, HIV prevention, gender and power dynamics, and personal choices at her local primary school and in her community.
