Cynthia's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!
A loan helped to buy more buckets of cooking oil to meet the demand in her community.
Cynthia is a 21-year-old entrepreneur who lives with her parents in the Chiradzulu district in Malawi. She lives with her parents who depend on farming for food and find it difficult to meet other basic household needs. She sells cooking oil in her community. Cynthia is requesting a Kiva loan in order to buy more buckets of cooking oil to meet the demand in her community. Cynthia plans to use the profit she earns to support her parents and take care of her siblings. She will repay the ‘social interest’ on her loan by volunteering for 2.5 hours per week as a Camfed Alumnae Executive, leading life skills sessions for students in local schools on topics such as rights and choices, choosing a career path and active citizenship.
