La Colonia Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy corn, butter, meat, tomatoes, onions, firewood, etc.

La Colonia Group's story

Elvira is an enterprising woman, humble, responsible and very hard-working. She is 44 years old and she is a single mother of two children. She now works selling tortillas as a street vendor.

She started her business on her own, but with the support of Fundenuse. In fact, with her first loan, she was able to invest in her business to help her children, who are now independent. She was, in this way, able to move forward, and she became known in her community for her business. Her goal to grow her business is to have a store where her customers could come and sit comfortably to enjoy the delicious "nacatamales" she makes once a week.

This is the eighth time she works with Fundenuse, but only the third with a Kiva loan. She requests this loan to buy raw materials to make her products. She is part of the group La Colonia, along with Karla and Suyapa.
