Elizabeth's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy more farm inputs to boost production and also to buy more vegetables for selling.

Elizabeth's story

Most of the Kenyan population directly depends on small-scale farming for their livelihood in the rural areas. Meet Elizabeth, who has defied the common thinking of most Kenyans about agriculture. She is happily married and blessed with three children.

Elizabeth practices agriculture with a difference, employing youthful energy, enthusiasm, and knowledge attained from years of experience. To sustain her family, she offers her produce to specific markets with specific needs, thus increasing her revenue.

Elizabeth has applied for a 100,000 KES loan through Kiva's field partner, Kenya ECLOF, to buy farming inputs, such as certified seeds and high-nutrient fertilizer. She will also buy more vegetables for selling.

Elizabeth is very determined to succeed. Because she is much disciplined with finances, she plans that through accumulated profits, she will be able to provide a secure future for herself and educate her children.
