Agnes's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy seeds and start horticultural farming on her farm, enabling her to support her family during this difficult economic period.

Agnes's story

Agnes is a 48-year old mother of three children living in Meru, an area that has a history of regular rainfall patterns and a direct connection with good agricultural production. Her desire to get ahead is admirable because, despite her age and the obstacles she has experienced, she doesn't reduce her efforts to achieve her objective. What she sets out to do, she achieves.

Agnes practices mixed farming on her farm. With her profits, she has managed to take care of her family's needs and also give her children a good education. Agnes wants to reap more profits by taking advantage of her area's favorable weather patterns, the good road network in her village, good soil, and a ready market for horticultural products. She is seeking a loan of KES 70,000 (Kenya shillings) to buy seeds and start horticultural farming on her farm. Juhudi Kilimo is partnering with Kiva to help hardworking moms like Agnes make their farming dreams come to reality, through training and loan financing. Please help this woman, who has dreams and goals to achieve. Support her at this time when the Covid-19 pandemic has affected food systems, food security, and agricultural livelihoods.
