A loan helped to dig a pond.

Chansy's story

Chansy, age 31, is a farmer living in Pursat province with his spouse and one school-age child. Rice farming has been the primary source of his income for a long time.
With his income, Chansy can pay for food and products for household use, allowances for his child and other expenses.
With his perseverance he plans to educate his child up to college, because he wants to see his child become a professional one day.

Due to the lack of finances, he has applied for a loan in the amount of 6,000,000 KHR to dig a pond. This will prevent him from facing a water shortage in the future and he won't have to spend much time collecting water from the far-distant areas anymore. He expresses his thanks to all Kiva lenders for showing their interest in poor people like him to improve sanitation and safe drinking.
