A loan helped to build a household latrine.

Sophuon's story

Sophuon, aged 33, is an experienced construction worker from a rural village of Peam Chor district, Prey Veng province. He has been working in a construction business for more than 3 years and also works as a paid laborer for additional income. He has a common law relationship with his wife who is a loving mother of three children.

Sophuon works very hard everyday at the construction site to prepare construction supplies for building. He works more than 8 hours per day to make sure that his family members have enough food to eat.

With little income from construction, Sophuon hasn’t been able to save enough money to care of the needs for his family, so at this time he is asking for a loan of USD 2,000 to build a household latrine.

A household latrine will enable Sophuon to promote good health and improve the family's living conditions. Thanks to the water loan program offered by Hattha Kaksekar Limited at a special rate, Sophuon has been encouraged to focus on ensuring healthy living conditions to safeguard the health of his family and protect the environment.
