A loan helped to purchase feed for her pigs.

Lourdes Asuncion's story

Lourdes Asuncion is married and from this relationship has four children, all adults. Her spouse works on the wharf. They live in Jaramijó, a touristic city with lovely beaches which border its coasts, where the people are very friendly and enterprising with great desire to get ahead. This place has been very affected by the health emergency caused by COVID-19.

She is a very hard-working woman who, to support her spouse with the household expenses, has worked for ten years raising pigs. She purchases them very young and, in a place she has outfitted in the yard of her house, she raises them. When they finish their growth cycle, she butchers them and sells them by the pound or live.

But, with the problem of the pandemic, her sales have dropped. This has caused her financial problems since her income has been reduced. To try to improve her sales, she has begun selling chickens.

With this loan, she will strengthen her business. This loan is to purchase feed for her pigs. Her dream is to improve the business.
