Manuel, 42, is married and has three children. He grows staple grains, coffee, and chia, and rears cattle. He has been a farmer for 25 years. He started when he got married, first on his parents' land, then on land that they gave him. Thanks to his hard work, he has grown his farm and provided for his family. His goal is to keep growing so as to build the best possible future for his children. He asks Fundenuse for a loan through Kiva in order to buy farm supplies for the coming months, in view of the maize, broad beans, and chia harvests. He also needs to hire farm hands.
