Gladys's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase farm inputs (fertilizers and seeds) to boost her yields and improve her sales, so that she can have enough money to improve her life.

Gladys's story

Gladys is known in her remote village because of her contagious smile and ever-present jovial nature. She is a 26-year-old rural farmer who hails from the Eldoret region of Kenya. From her own perspective, Gladys believes that a lack of access to credit services is the only deterrent to a smallholder’s success.

Having always had a passion for farming, especially milking her cows, Gladys has applied for this loan in order to purchase farm inputs (fertilizers and seeds) to boost her yields and improve her sales, so that she can have enough money to improve her life.

Gladys is an idealistic woman, and her goal for this season is to boost her crop production above the level of the previous year. One objective that Juhudi Kilimo aims at fulfilling is increasing the ease of accessing farm inputs and income-generating assets for farmers.

Through the intervention of Juhudi Kilimo and Kiva, inputs have become more accessible to its members than buying a bottle of water. Be inspired this season, and put a smile on the face of a woman by kindly granting her a loan!
