A loan helped to stock her grocery store with a wide variety of products.

Fanny María's story

Fanny Maria is married and has two children, one of which is married and independent and one of which is still in school. Her spouse works in business, and together they live in their own house in Portoviejo, which was severely affected by the April 2016 earthquake and is now impacted by COVID-19. Their city is known for producing vegetables, legumes, and tropical fruits for domestic consumption.

Fanny Maria runs a small home-based grocery store where she sells rice, sugar, oils, detergent, legumes, fruits and vegetables, ice cream, sodas, and other products from the Yanbal catalogue.

During this global economic crisis, sales have fallen dramatically, but Fanny Maria is slowly starting to reopen her store and generate an income. With this new loan, she will buy groceries so that her store will be stocked with a wide variety of products. Her dream is for her family to remain healthy and for her business to continue growing.
