Sonia Alfredina's story

Sonia Alfredina is 52 years old, in a common-law marriage, and from this relationship has five children, of whom three are adults and independent and two are ages 12 and 10 and go to secondary and primary school. Her spouse works on the board of the geriatric center. They live in Manta, a city which has lovely and welcoming beaches.

Sonia Alfredina is a tailor. She works at home, sewing all sorts of clothing for her customers who come to her to make outfits for all occasions.

During this global crisis, she has had financial difficulties. Her customers are unable to pay her because they are unemployed and others died. The health crisis at first was very bad for her since she was unable to work in sewing. Her spouse got sick from COVID-19 and currently is recovering.

But now, little by little, her business is reactivating. With this new loan, she will purchase fabric, thread, and do maintenance on the machines. Her dream is that all her children become professionals and that the business continues growing.
