Niquila's story

Niquila also fondly known as Nikkie is the founder and lead creator of Thank You NIkkie an event planning and concierge service. Nikkie was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri. She is a Certified Quality Event Planner through Management and Strategy Institute and is currently taking courses for an Entrepreneur Specialization through Wharton University via Coursera an online learning platform. While Nikkie’s certification is as of July 2019 she had been planning and coordinating events for 13 years. Most of her planning experience has been with her church. For her church she has planned events from luncheons to gospel concerts. One of her proudest moments in planning was securing 300 backpacks from a major insurance company for a backpack and school supply giveaway. This was more than she expected. Before starting Thank You Nikkie she worked as a Customer Service Representative in many industries even earning her Series 6 license to work in the financial industry. It was her position as a Senior Event Associate for a venue located in Lee’s Summit, MO that showed her she had the stuff to make it full time as an event planner. As a senior event associate she was able to oversee and coordinate wedding receptions, retreats, graduation parties and corporate meetings. It was hard work but Nikkie learned a lot and had a great time.
