Aliona's story

Aliona is a 22-year-old farmer from the village of Troitcoe, Cimislia region of Moldova. She is unmarried and lives with her parents. Aliona is in charge of milk production. She owns 4 ha of agricultural land on which she grows cereals for animal feed. The animal raising activity was started by her parents 12 years ago. They have stable and a space for keeping cereals. It is the family business and a source of food and income for whole family.

Aliona wants to start her own business and to raise her own cows. She wants to buy six dairy cows. But not having enough money, she decided to ask for a loan from Kiva. She intends to increase the number of cows in the future, but also to raise cattle for meat. As a result, using the loan will increase the number of animals, thus increasing the income from milk production.
