Namathiane Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase sheep for resale.

Namathiane Group's story

Namathiane in the Manding language means star and is the name of a group of 17 women who are in the business of breeding sheep. This loan is intended for developing the group's breeding business.

Mme Worokhiya is the president of the group and is shown in the photo. She is 46 and lives in Senegal. She is divorced and mother to 2 children who are 5 and 15. She is responsible for the care of the children who are in school.

With this loan she plans to purchase sheep in nearby zones, where the prices are low, for resale in the weekly market in her commune, This loan will enable her to increase her income and also grow her business in order to meet the needs of her children for whom she is the sole provider. It is thanks to her business that she has somehow managed to assure the education, nutrition, clothing, and health of her children. She has been in this business for 5 years, but occasionally has faced livestock theft and difficulty accessing microfinance resources.
