Maritza Del Carmen's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase pork, maíz, rice, tomatoes, onions, vinegar and [banana] leaves, as well as to purchase chicken to have another source of income.

Maritza Del Carmen's story

For many years, Maritza has made a living selling nacatalames (corn, meat and rice wrapped in a banana leaf) as a way to earn money to support her two children, as she is a single mother. Her descendants have said they feel proud to have a mother who is hardworking, determined and who is very focused on their wellbeing. Her product is sought out by her clients due to its exquisiteness.

She wants to increase her production and it is for that reason that she has opted for loans from these two organizations to purchase pork, maíz, rice, tomatoes, onions, vinegar and [banana] leaves, as well as to purchase chicken to have another source of income. In the near future, she thinks she will convert her business into a grocery store, but she will not forget her nacatamales.
