A loan helped to pay for construction labor costs to install electricity and water services in her house to have a better quality of life.

Jesusa's story

Jesusa, 64 years old, lives with her spouse and has 3 adult and independent children. Over 40 years ago, she began in the agricultural trade; she harvests cacao, yuca, plantains, and other products which have helped her get ahead. Her greatest challenge has been increasing the area planted with cacao.

In addition, with her spouse, she does day labor jobs on other land, which allows her to have an extra income. They weed, prune, and do other work.

She asks for her loan because she wants to invest in paying construction labor costs to install electricity and water services in her house to have a better quality of life. She wants to continue saving up to improve her house with the finishing and at some point be able to rent 3 rooms, so she has to do the plastering and hire a contractor so that she and her spouse can live on the rental income. They feel that they no longer have the strength to continue doing extra agricultural work.
