01_Santhie 1 Group's story

These nine brave women are members of a group which was formed in May 2011. They live in the same village and have good social and professional relationships. Their main activity is trade.
Ndéye Amy, the representative, is on the left of the photo and aged 36. She is married and mother of five children including three boys and four of them are in school.
Ndéye Amy has a business selling fish. She buys her products at the fishing port, processes them and sells them at the market. She has 10 years of experience in the sector.
Her new loan will be used to buy crates of fish, pay for the labour for smoking the fish and to pay for the transport. She has a facility from which to sell her fish which is of high quality among the whole region.
Her profits will enable her to cover certain expenses within the family, to cover her own needs and to save with the "Banc Villageois".
