A loan helped to maintain her boat.

Erika Monserrate's story

Erika is 34 years old, lives in free union, and, from this relationship, has 2 children, ages 17 and 11. Her partner works trading fish. They live in Jaramijo, a place of beautiful beaches that bathe its cost and where most inhabitants are very hard-working and make a living from the sea; they have been very affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Erika is a homemaker who is requesting the loan for her partner to invest in their boat. For 5 years, they have been selling the fish. He goes out to the sea every day to be able to catch something and generate income. There are good and bad days; on good days, when he comes back, he sells the catch of the day to sales-people on the beach. In the first months of the emergency, he did not go out fishing for fear of contagion. But, little by little, the activity is resuming and they are starting going out fishing again.

Erika will invest the loan on maintaining her boat. She aspires to have her own store.
