Rumbidzai's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy inputs to be sold to local farmers in her community in order to increase her family income.

Rumbidzai's story

Rumbidzai is a 34-year-old Mozambican woman. She lives with her husband and their lovely children.

Rumbidzai is a well known producer in her community. She helps a lot of smallholder farmers to get inputs on a credit basis, allowing them to repay back after the harvesting process. Rumbidzai also produces veggies such as cabbage, lettuce, onions and tomatoes.

Besides the agricultural activity, Rumbidzai coordinates three saving and loans groups in her community. Thanks to this activity, she gained enough skills in finance education and business management.

In 2018 Rumbidzai requested her first Kiva loan, which allowed her to grow in her business. Nowadays, Rumbidzai has her own inputs shop, where the smallholder farmers of her community can buy inputs to produce the whole year round.

Due to the increase in products demand, Rumbidzai needs to buy more inputs to supply to her clients. This is why she is requesting her second Kiva loan to buy inputs to be sold to local farmers in her community in order to increase her family income.
