Modester's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to expand her business by buying more float to meet the demand of her customers.

Modester's story

Modester is a 32-year-old entrepreneur who lives with her mother and child in Mpika district in Zambia. She received a Kiva loan before and repaid it in full.

She is requesting for another loan to expand her business. Modester operates a mobile money booth and owns a boutique. With her first Kiva loan, Modester purchased more stock to increase her sales. She used the profits she earned to expand her business capital. Modester is requesting a second loan to expand her business by buying more float to meet the demand of her customers. She plans to use the profits she earns to support her family.

Modester will repay the ‘social interest’ on her second loan by volunteering three hours per week as a CAMFED Learner Guide, following up on students who are at risk of dropping out of school, to find out why they are missing school and to link them with the help they need to stay in school.
