A loan helped to buy dairy cows to increase her income from cattle breeding and milk sales.

Elmira's story

Elmira is 55 years old, married and has 3 children. She has a university teaching degree and has worked at a local school for many years. An additional source of income for her family has been from raising livestock and crops. Thanks to her hard work and her husband's help, Elmira has on her farm today 2 cows and 4 horses, as well as a 1.16 hectare plot of land on which she grows potatoes.

Elmira has an agreement to deliver organic milk to a local plant for further processing into dairy products. This allows her to continuously invest in her agricultural business. Elmira applied for 100,000 som (KGS) from Bai-Tushum Bank after learning that she can receive the loan based on her contract for future deliveries as part of the product "value chain". She will purchase dairy cows to increase her income from cattle breeding and sales of organic milk. Payments for the milk from the plant will be deposited directly into her bank account and loan payments automatically deducted. Income from the loan will help Elmira develop her farm and improve the well-being of her family.
