Julia's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to pay for scales, empty drums, spades, knives and empty bags for her cocoa buying business.

Julia's story

Julia is a 47 year-old woman who is married, with seven children, and they live in a community outside Honiara, capital of Solomon Island.

She runs a small business where she buys wet cocoa beans and dries the beans for sale to local cocoa exporters in town to earn a living. She has been in this business for one year. Julia also runs a small general store business selling food items such as rice, noodles, biscuits and canned foods in her community to earn additional income.

She has requested a loan to pay for additional scales, empty drums, spades, knives and empty bags to assist her with her cocoa buying business. She plans to use her profits to meet her family's weekly expenses and improve her businesses.

Julia joined SPBD in 2018 to gain access to financial services.
