Umoja Virunga Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to stock up on 20 sacks of rice which will reinforce her initial capital.

Umoja Virunga Group's story

Mme Mariam is a customer of Hekima IMF and a member of the groupe villageoise Umoja Virunga. She is a 47 year old widow and a mother of 4 children who are all in school.

She sells food products. She launched her business 12 years ago with funds generated by her other work activity at the time. Later she got involved with the Hekima program, obtaining support and gradually evolving her business.

With this new loan she is going to stock up on 20 sacks of rice which will reinforce her initial capital. The challenge for her business is the lack of customers.

She would like to purchase a parcel of land to build. She would also like to thank Hekima and its partners for their support for business owners without access to traditional banking, in the context of the Covid-19 crisis.

The photograph only represents the leader of the group due to Covid-19.
