A loan helped to buy beans, potatoes and corn, which will strengthen her initial capital.

Pilier Group's story

Rachel is a customer of the microfinance institution Hekima and the head of the village group "Pilier". She is forty eight years old, married and the mother of eight children, four of whom are already married and the remaining four go to school. Her husband is a shopkeeper.
She is a seller of food products. She started this business eighteen years ago with starting funds she collected from her salary. Later, she joined up a program with Hekima to support her business, during which she was able to make steady progress. With this new loan, she will buy beans, potatoes and corn, which will strengthen her initial capital. The biggest challenge with her business is related to the price fluctuations on the market.
She would like for her children to keep studying and to be able to feed her family. Lastly, she would like to thank Hekima and their partners for the support they give to the owners of non-bankable businesses in this context of global crisis related to covid-19. The picture shows only the group leader because of covid-19.
