A loan helped to buy two bags of corn flour and two bags of cassava flour, which will strengthen her initial capital.

Matumaini Group's story

Faida is a customer of the microfinance institution Hekima and the head of the village group "Matumaini". She is forty five years old, married and the mother of seven children who all go to school. Her husband is a carpenter.
She is a seller of corn flour and cassava. She started this business in 2005 with starting funds received from a program from Hekima to support her business. During this program she was able to make steady progress. With this new loan, she will buy two bags of corn flour and two bags of cassava flour, which will strengthen her initial capital. The biggest challenge of her business is related to the increase in the conversion rate of dollars.
She would like for her children to keep studying and to be able to feed her family. Lastly, she would like to thank Hekima and their partners for the support they provide to owners of non-bankable businesses in this context of global crisis related to covid-19. The picture shows only the group leader because of covid-19.
