Zapallal, Darién Province, Panama / Retail

Katherin's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy inventory for her snacks business and to manufacture home-made face masks, and to use the profits earned to finish building her home.

Katherin's story

Katherin lives in the rural community of Zapallal in the eastern region of Darien in Panama.

Katherin is happy and has a full of life a Panamanian who always brings joy to the small community of Zapallal. Married and with an entire life ahead, she studies and also follows her entrepreneurial spirit. She sells candies and different snacks to people from her house.

Additionally, Katherin is taking advantage of some tailoring experience and a sewing machine she has at home to design and sell homemade face masks to people in Zapallal and nearby towns, thus helping people protect themselves during this COVID-19 pandemic that has hit her province really hard. It will also generate some income for her family.

Her goal this year is to finish building her house, and with this loan of $1,000 US, she can buy snacks inventory and raw materials that will help her sell more and with the revenue, finally finish building her house.

Thanks for helping Katherin pursue her dreams!
