A loan helped to buy farming inputs which she will use to improve her production and increase profits to support her family.

Winnie's story

Winnie is a 39 year old mother of 2 children. She lives in Kapcherop, a town whose surroundings have vast agricultural potential with both numerous small farms and also vast agricultural enterprises. Winnie is a mixed dairy and crop farmer who injects passion and determination in her work.

The major impediment to the development of small hold farms in Kenya is lack of short-term credit facilities. Juhudi Kilimo, in partnership with Kiva, is working hard to support small hold farmers in Kenya through financing and therefore guarantee their survival.

Winnie is seeking this loan to buy farming inputs which she will use to improve her production and increase profits to support her family.

Supporting Winnie with a loan will be key to her facing the financial crisis that has been brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic.
