Joyce's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy farm inputs, such as quality seeds and fertilizer, to help improve her crop production and, through increased profits, improve her life.

Joyce's story

Joyce is a 43-year-old mom of one schoolgoing child. A dedicated mother, she has been searching for a white-collar job, but the search has been futile. As a result, she decided to start raising crops and farming animals.

Joyce is a very honest, hardworking, and dedicated farmer who hails from the Kapcherop area of Kenya. Although she has gathered much experience in agribusiness, she is not comfortable with the little she earns after having invested so much of her time and effort.

Joyce requested a loan from Juhudi Kilimo after realizing that they are in partnership with Kiva and that they are willing to help her realize her dreams. She will use the loan to buy farm inputs, such as quality seeds and fertilizer, to help improve her crop production and, through increased profits, assure her family of a secure future.

For a woman like Joyce, accessing funds in Kenya - especially around the Kapcherop area where she lives - is very challenging. Joyce feels relieved knowing there are institutions that help enterprising women like her. She is always working to improve her family’s living conditions, but her biggest dreams are to become independent and to support her family by herself.
