Mercy's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy farm inputs such as seeds and fertilizer to help a borrower with a good credit record to improve the quality of her farm produce.

Mercy's story

Full of drive and ambition, Mercy, 32, is a mother of six school-going children and has been a hard worker all her life. She is a mixed dairy and crop farmer living in Kapcherop, Kenya. Through agriculture, she has made her life meaningful and she feels she is now deriving maximum pleasure from it.

In the modern world, agriculture has become exceedingly dynamic, and the inputs that are being used have been upgraded. It is necessary to use these improved inputs, which include high-quality seeds and fertilizers, to ensure effective production. As an informed farmer, Mercy has therefore borrowed funds to buy these farm inputs.

This loan is an opportunity that Mercy has never had before. Her irregular income and lack of collateral were the main factors preventing her from accessing a loan from commercial banks.

Thanks to Juhudi Kilimo and Kiva, the lives of Mercy and her family will be changed through this loan.
